Some ideas extracted from the Deep inner Game series that I found profound.
Guest speakers: Richard
– Some where along the line you made up who you think you are and you stopped challenging yourself.
– I don’t know who you are, but I know who you’re not. You’re not your past, you’re not where you came from, or your family. You’re not really even who you think you are now. But you identify yourself with it. Start architecting your new self.
Tony Robins quote: The past does not equal the future. Most people walk around reliving who they were, all the time, rather then constantly challenging who they were all the time.
– Your mind is a B.S. creating machine, and will continue to do so for the rest of your life unless you get involved, and fill it with what you want to create.
Affirmations: Things just work out for me in life. My life just keeps getting better and better every day. I am strong powerful committed and driven. I adapt and overcome and adapt at lightning speed. I am the power.
– The wisdom of Milton H Ericson “Patients come to you and they don’t know why they come, and since they don’t know what their problems are , they can’t tell you, and you listen with your background, and you don’t know what they are saying, but you better know that you don’t know. Too many psychiatrists try to plan what kind of thinking they’re going to do in stead of waiting to see what stimulus they receive and then letting their unconcious mind respond to that stimulus. I always trust my unconscious.”
Don’t script situations or plan what you will think. Trust that you’ll know what to say. Stay unattached to the outcome. This keeps you from acting freely. Stay focused on your outcome, where nothing else matters. Everything else is irrelevant, when you have a focus.
– Concept of competition. Don’t view things as competing with others for your goals, because you tend to focus on their strengths and your weaknesses.
– How does one build status. Have a clear sense of your boundaries. There’s nothing that communicates your status quicker then this. Not from a whinny or victim spot, but from a place that communicates high self esteem and high self reverence.
– Develop emotional control. This is a tall-tell sign of those that have high status. The ability to control themselves despite whatever is going on, is huge. Never let them see you sweat approach is valuable.
– Stop seeking other people’s approval. At the end of the day, if your not on your journey for YOU, for your reasons and what it does for your life, then it’s all B.S. Not to say you should not share your success with others, but know what drives it. Is it genuine excitement, or is it a need for validation.
– Generally, more knowledge is gained in failure then in success.
Robert Keyasaky quote “The reason you’re not sucessfull is because you have not failed enough. You need to fail more and faster.”
– There are 2 resolutions to anger. Acceptance, and resistance. When you get angry, you resist something you had no power over (the change that is happening), which festers, and stays with you. With acceptance, you realize what is happening, and accept it, and move on.
– Don’t be afraid to re-invent yourself.
