My linux network shuffling has began…
Yesterday I brought up the HTPC (Athlon 2000) and after a few HDs got shuffled, (put the 160 gig into the Athlon 2000 machine which will be the workstation, and put the 120 gig from the HTPC into the new server machine Sempron 2400) I blew away everything ion the 120 gig drive, and proceded to install SuSE SLICK 10.0.
Once that got started, I proceeded to install the same thing on the workstation machine after efforts to get XP working failed (more on that later)
As I was laying on the floor besides the computes, a strange feeling came over me. I had done this a hundread times before (this being modifying/setting up computers which need a new OS install) but this time the OS was SuSE Linux, not Windows. Every other OS install I can think of in the past 10+ years has been windows 9x, 2000, XP…
It was a strange tingle… a grin came over my face… and a thought of ‘Wow… this is cool’. I sat there for a minute enjoying the weirdness/geeky moment I was experencing.
I had installed Linux a few times in the past as dual boot OS, but have always reverted to using Windows as the main OS . This time Linux _IS_ the main OS on 2 computers… This is a _huge_ step in my computer/geek life.
